We are pleased to announce that ENACT will contribute to a high-impact Special Session 07 at the 32nd ICE IEEE/ITMC Conference, one of Europe’s leading forums for advancing research and innovation in engineering, digital technologies, and intelligent systems.

Titled “Dynamic Intelligence and Connectivity in the Edge–Cloud Continuum – Towards Cognitive Edge-Cloud Continuums,” this session will convene leading researchers, innovators, and practitioners to explore the state of the art and emerging challenges in seamless, intelligent orchestration across distributed edge and cloud infrastructures.

The session will invite high-quality contributions presenting architectures, prototypes, and lessons learned from Horizon Europe projects and related initiatives, as well as independent research on distributed computing. Topics include AI-driven orchestration, security and trustworthiness, energy efficiency, federated learning, swarm intelligence, data spaces, and next-generation hardware and software technologies. The session aims to foster collaboration and shape future directions for cognitive, resilient, and efficient edge–cloud computing infrastructures.

What this Special Session will explore

Participants can expect forward-looking discussions and technical contributions addressing:

  • Dynamic discovery, integration, and connectivity of heterogeneous edge and cloud resources
  • Adaptive and intelligent orchestration of distributed applications and services
  • AI-driven automation for optimization, scalability, and resource efficiency
  • Design and deployment strategies across the computing continuum
  • Security, privacy, trustworthiness, and energy efficiency in distributed environments
  • Novel hardware, software, and AI paradigms enabling next-generation execution models

Which are the key dates for Special Session 7?

  • 10 April 2026: Full Paper Submission
  • 08 May 2026: Notification of acceptance
  • 29 May 2026: Camera ready

We look forward to welcoming the research and innovation community to this pivotal session, where dynamic intelligence across the edge–cloud continuum will take center stage in shaping the future of distributed computing in Europe.
