ENACT to Co-Organize Data Week 2026 Workshop on AI Lifecycle Management Across the Cognitive Computing Continuum
ENACT is pleased to announce its participation in Data Week 2026, which will take place on 5–6 May 2026 in Oslo, Norway. Data Week is the spring gathering of the European Data and AI research and innovation community, providing a space for stakeholders to share knowledge, discuss common challenges, identify synergies, and connect research outcomes with European policy and market needs. The 2026 edition will focus on the theme “Data Fjords: Unlocking AI for Industry and Society.”
As part of the programme, ENACT will participate as co-organizer of the workshop “From Data to Decisions: AI Lifecycle Management Across the Cognitive Computing Continuum”, which will take place on 5 May 2026, from 11:30 to 13:00, in Room H3. The workshop is led by ENACT’s sister project CoGNETs and will bring together researchers, infrastructure providers, data and AI platform developers, and industry stakeholders to discuss how AI lifecycle management can evolve across the Cognitive Computing Continuum.
The workshop will address a broad range of technical and systemic topics, including end-to-end AI lifecycle management across the computing continuum, federated learning and collaborative model training, swarm intelligence approaches for decentralized coordination, and MLOps and AIOps for distributed and federated systems. It will also explore orchestration and automation of AI pipelines, data management and governance, SDKs and application programming models for distributed applications, monitoring and performance management, and key issues related to trustworthiness, privacy, and energy efficiency.
ENACT’s contribution to this workshop is closely aligned with the project’s mission to support intelligent, adaptive, and trustworthy orchestration across edge and cloud environments. As AI systems become increasingly distributed, the full lifecycle of AI — from data preparation and training to deployment, monitoring, optimization, and governance — must be reconsidered in light of highly dynamic and heterogeneous infrastructures.
The session will also provide an important opportunity to strengthen collaboration among Horizon Europe projects working on the Cognitive Computing Continuum. By joining forces with CoGNETs and other related initiatives, ENACT contributes to a shared European effort to move beyond fragmented AI pilots and towards more integrated, scalable, and operational AI-enabled systems across edge, cloud, and high-performance computing environments.
The workshop will feature contributions from several experts active in this field, including Valerio Frascolla, Georgios Spanos, Panagiotis Kokkinakis, Alexandros Nizamis, and Tamas Kiss. Their participation will help provide a broad perspective on the technical, architectural, and operational challenges involved in managing AI lifecycles across distributed infrastructures.
Through its participation in Data Week 2026, ENACT continues to reinforce its role within the European Data and AI ecosystem, contributing to discussions on how cognitive infrastructures can support more effective, trustworthy, and sustainable AI deployment. The workshop will offer a valuable forum to exchange knowledge, identify synergies, and explore how research results can support Europe’s broader ambitions in data-driven innovation and intelligent digital infrastructures.
