ENACT Recognised in the IDSA Data Spaces Radar for Its Cognitive Computing Continuum Data and Object Space

Nov 25, 2025

ENACT is proud to announce its official inclusion in the International Data Spaces Association (IDSA) Data Spaces Radar, marking a significant step forward in Europe’s transition toward secure, interoperable, and intelligent data-driven infrastructures. The ENACT Cognitive Computing Continuum (CCC) Data and Object Space is now listed as an implementation-stage data space, showcasing the project’s contribution to shaping the next generation of distributed applications.

Developed under the Horizon Europe programme, ENACT aims to bridge the gap between cloud, edge, and IoT environments through a unified orchestration and data management framework. The CCC Data and Object Space embodies this vision by enabling trusted data exchange and intelligent coordination across heterogeneous computing layers. Built upon IDSA’s reference architecture, it ensures compliance with European principles of sovereignty, interoperability, and transparency.

The ENACT data space introduces several key innovations:

  • A software development kit (SDK) designed to enable adaptive application behaviour depending on deployment location, whether in the cloud or at the edge.
  • A secure, IDSA-based architecture that facilitates the sharing of both data and executable objects across trusted domains.
  • Seamless integration of Eclipse Dataspace Connectors (EDC) combined with policy-based access control, ensuring robust governance and modular development of distributed services.

This achievement underscores ENACT’s active role in the European Data Spaces ecosystem, demonstrating how cognitive orchestration can enhance performance, security, and scalability within multi-layered infrastructures. The project contributes directly to Europe’s broader ambition of establishing interoperable and developer-friendly data spaces, supporting emerging domains such as AI-driven automation, digital twins, and distributed intelligence.

The consortium extends its appreciation to its partners — Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), Siemens, and the University of Western Macedonia — for their technical leadership, as well as to the European Commission for its continued support under Horizon Europe.

By joining the IDSA Data Spaces Radar, ENACT not only gains visibility within a growing international community but also strengthens its mission to build resilient, sovereign, and intelligent digital ecosystems for Europe’s future.
