ENACT Holds Productive General Assembly in Porto, Portugal

Jun 26, 2026

From June 25th to 26th, ENACT was pleased to hold its General Assembly in Porto, Portugal, hosted by project partner EVS. The meeting brought together the consortium for two days of productive work focused on project progress, technical integration, pilot validation, dissemination, exploitation and planning for the next period.

The GA took place at the Antiga Fábrica Vasco da Gama in Matosinhos, a distinctive former canning factory connected to the city’s maritime and industrial heritage. This unique setting provided a meaningful backdrop for discussions on how ENACT technologies can support the next generation of intelligent, distributed and trustworthy digital infrastructures across the cloud-edge-IoT continuum.

The first day opened with a review of the project status, overall KPIs, upcoming deliverables and the latest updates on requirements and specifications. The consortium then moved into detailed technical discussions addressing the integration activities among core ENACT components. These discussions confirmed that the project is moving forward with strong momentum. Partners aligned on concrete integration priorities, clarified dependencies among components and identified the next steps. The sessions were particularly valuable to consolidate technical progress and ensure that the different building blocks of ENACT continue to converge into an integrated project framework.

Pilot activities were also a central part of the agenda. The consortium reviewed the status of deployment, integration with ENACT components, validation scenarios, early testing and KPI achievement plans across the project’s three pilot cases. The MOG pilot on Distributed Media and Entertainment Content Management was discussed during the first day, while the EITB/OSO pilot on media content for cultural heritage and tourism and the Fujitsu pilot on distributed data processing for mobility digital twin applications were addressed during the second day. These working sessions confirmed the relevance of ENACT’s approach for practical, sector-oriented applications.

The GA also included dedicated time for impact-oriented activities, covering dissemination and communication KPIs, exploitation planning, synergies with relevant initiatives, potential venues for demonstrations, hackathon preparation and the planned release of ENACT tools through digital marketplaces. This ensured that technical progress remains closely connected with visibility, sustainability and future adoption.

The second day concluded with planning for the next period. The discussions reflected the consortium’s strong collaboration and its shared commitment to delivering impactful results as ENACT advances towards its final project objectives.

ENACT would like to thank EVS for the excellent organization and warm hosting of the meeting in Porto/Matosinhos, as well as all partners for their active contributions throughout the GA. The project leaves Porto with reinforced alignment, clear next steps and renewed motivation to continue advancing intelligent solutions for the Cognitive Computing Continuum.
