ENACT Highlights at Data Week 2025 in Athens

Nov 25, 2025

The Data Week 2025, held on 27–28 May 2025 in Athens, Greece, convened Europe’s leading data and AI research and innovation community under the banner “Odyssey of AI: Navigating the Data Seas”. Hosted by the Big Data Value Association (BDVA) and supported by partners such as Athens Technology Center S.A., Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS), and others, the event offered a rich programme of workshops, panels and networking designed to foster interoperability, trust and value creation across Europe’s data ecosystem.

ENACT was proud to join this flagship gathering, represented by our colleagues Usman Wajid and Alexandros Nizamis, who showcased the project’s advances in secure, adaptive orchestration across the edge-cloud continuum. Their participation emphasized ENACT’s commitment to shaping resilient infrastructure for artificial-intelligence-driven automation and distributed intelligence.

Of particular note was our session, which brought together Horizon Europe initiatives such as CoGNETs, SM4RTENANCE, O‑CEI Horizon and CyclopsProject. Through this collaborative forum, participants emphasised the critical importance of interoperability, trust, and scalability in building resilient AI infrastructures across Europe’s growing network of data spaces. We were pleased to contribute our viewpoint on how orchestration and governance must align with emerging infrastructure models to ensure that AI-enabled services can be deployed reliably and at scale.

The event provided a valuable platform for ENACT to engage with the broader community, exchange ideas, and identify synergies for future work. We extend our thanks to all participating projects and organisers for a highly productive and inspiring meeting of minds. Moving forward, ENACT will integrate the insights gained at Data Week 2025 into our dissemination and exploitation efforts — reinforcing our mission to advance orchestration, governance and interoperability in computing continuums across Europe.
