ENACT will take part in the upcoming Eclipse Foundation webinar “Research meets Open Source: Scaling Enterprise Infrastructure from Zero-Touch Provisioning to Eclipse ioFog”, which will be held on 23 June at 16:00 CEST. The session will explore how open-source technologies are helping organizations automate infrastructure provisioning, improve observability, and manage operations across distributed cloud and edge environments.

The webinar is part of the Eclipse Foundation’s Research meets Open Source series, which provides a valuable space for connecting research-driven innovation with open-source communities and industry practitioners. This setting is particularly relevant for ENACT, whose work is strongly focused on advancing the Cognitive Computing Continuum through intelligent, automated and interoperable solutions for cloud-edge infrastructures.

A key highlight of the session will be the connection between Zero-Touch Provisioning and Eclipse ioFog. ENACT’s contribution is especially significant in this context, as Zero-Touch Provisioning represents one of the project’s impactful results and a concrete example of how research outcomes can be transferred towards the open-source ecosystem. Through this contribution, ENACT aims to support more automated, scalable and manageable infrastructure operations across complex edge and cloud environments.

ENACT will showcase how its technological developments can help reduce the operational complexity of distributed infrastructures, enabling more efficient deployment, configuration and management of services across the computing continuum. This aligns closely with the project’s broader ambition to make cloud-edge systems more adaptive, resilient and capable of supporting next-generation digital applications.

The session will also provide an opportunity to discuss how open-source platforms such as Eclipse ioFog can support the deployment, orchestration and operation of distributed workloads at the edge. For ENACT, this represents an important opportunity to engage with the Eclipse ecosystem and demonstrate how the project’s results can contribute to wider communities working on cloud-edge orchestration, infrastructure automation and open digital technologies.

ENACT’s participation in the webinar reinforces the project’s commitment to openness, collaboration and the practical adoption of research results beyond the boundaries of the consortium.
