ENACT is pleased to announce its participation in the 23rd ACM International Conference on Computing Frontiers — CF’26, which will take place from 19 to 21 May 2026 in Catania, Sicily, Italy. Computing Frontiers is an international conference focused on emerging trends and cross-disciplinary advances in computing, bringing together researchers working on new computing paradigms, architectures, systems, applications, and technologies at the edge of current innovation.

As part of the conference programme, ENACT will present the paper “Cognitive Orchestration of Distributed Resources in the ENACT Cognitive Computing Continuum (CCC)” on 20 May 2026. The paper will be presented by Alexandros Nizamis, ENACT project coordinator, offering the research community an opportunity to learn more about the project’s approach to intelligent orchestration across distributed edge, cloud, and continuum infrastructures.

The contribution reflects one of the central ambitions of ENACT: to advance the Cognitive Computing Continuum through mechanisms that allow distributed resources, applications, and services to be managed in a more adaptive, intelligent, and context-aware way. In increasingly complex digital environments, where computation is no longer confined to centralised cloud infrastructures, orchestration becomes a key challenge for enabling scalable, efficient, and trustworthy application deployment.

Through this paper, ENACT will present how cognitive orchestration can support the dynamic management of heterogeneous resources across the continuum. This includes the capacity to reason about infrastructure conditions, application needs, resource availability, and optimisation objectives, helping distributed systems become more responsive to changing operational contexts.

The participation of ENACT at CF’26 is highly aligned with the conference’s focus on future computing frontiers. By bringing its work to this forum, the project contributes to broader scientific discussions on next-generation computing systems, distributed intelligence, edge-cloud integration, and resource-aware execution models.

This presence also strengthens ENACT’s visibility within the international research community and supports the project’s ongoing dissemination of technical results. As ENACT progresses towards its final phase, opportunities such as CF’26 are essential to share lessons learned, gather feedback, and connect the project’s outcomes with wider debates on the future of computing infrastructures.

ENACT looks forward to contributing to the discussions at ACM Computing Frontiers 2026 and to showcasing how cognitive orchestration can help shape the next generation of distributed, intelligent, and adaptive computing environments.
