ENACT Plenary Meeting in Nova Gorica: Strengthening Integration and Pilots Towards Year 3 Milestones

Nov 25, 2025

On November 4–5, 2025, the ENACT consortium convened in the dynamic municipality of Nova Gorica, Slovenia, for its latest Plenary Meeting — two days of in-depth technical sessions, demonstrations, and collaborative planning. Hosted by Arctur, the meeting brought together representatives from all partner organizations to review progress, align on key objectives, and define next steps as the project enters its third year of implementation.

The first day focused on technical integration and performance validation across ENACT’s core components. Partners presented updates on the Application Programming Model (APM), AI-driven orchestration, Dynamic Graph Modelling, and Zero-Touch Provisioning (ZTP) mechanisms, all contributing to ENACT’s overarching goal of enabling seamless deployment and management across the Cloud-Edge Continuum (CCC).

A series of live demonstrations showcased how ENACT’s software development kit (SDK) and user interfaces facilitate adaptive application behavior and device onboarding within the continuum. Particular attention was given to how AI components — including DRL + GNN models and the AI Orchestrator — are evolving to optimize resource allocation, forecast workloads, and enhance the resilience of distributed systems.

The agenda also dedicated a session to Work Package 8, where discussions centered on impact assessment, dissemination, and exploitation activities. Partners reviewed KPIs, evaluated dissemination outcomes, and outlined new strategies to strengthen visibility, synergies, and open-source engagement. This included planning for upcoming demonstrations and events to showcase ENACT’s technological results and maximize outreach across European research and industrial ecosystems.

Day 2 was devoted to pilot validation and deployment planning, featuring in-depth workshops on the three ENACT use cases: EITB/OSO (media production and distribution for cultural heritage and tourism), MOG Technologies (distributed media content management), and Fujitsu (mobility digital twin for smart mobility). Each pilot presented its deployment status, integration with ENACT components, infrastructure setup, and KPI measurement approach, followed by interactive discussions to refine technical and operational alignment.

The meeting concluded with a visit to Arctur’s Data Center, where participants had the opportunity to connect ENACT’s research vision with real-world computational infrastructure. By the end of the two-day event, the consortium validated its roadmap for Year 3, reinforcing the shared commitment to advancing AI-driven orchestration, interoperability, and scalability within Europe’s Cognitive Computing Continuum.

ENACT leaves Nova Gorica with renewed collaboration, a clear set of priorities, and an ambitious path forward toward its next review milestone.
